The Challenge

VitroGlass Global faced critical inefficiencies in their high-temperature glass melting furnaces. Existing heating elements were suffering from accelerated oxidation, leading to unplanned maintenance cycles every 4 months. The inconsistency in thermal distribution resulted in a 12% reject rate due to micro-fractures in the finished glass products.

Energy consumption was exceeding industry benchmarks by 18%, significantly impacting operational margins and carbon footprint targets for the fiscal year.

The Solution

IOTheat implemented a custom thermal management system featuring Super-Quality Molybdenum Disilicide (MoSi2) heating elements. Our engineering approach involved a 3D thermal mapping of the furnace interior to optimize element placement and ensure uniform heat distribution.

We integrated an automated precision control module that utilizes predictive analytics to adjust power output based on real-time melt viscosity. This minimized thermal shock and extended the life of both the elements and the furnace lining.
